When they played in LA, no one knew who the Traveling Wilburys were, so no one came to see them....those that did stroll in were pleasantly surprised to see these big time rockers playing to an empty room.

dylan and pettys voice together sounds beautiful

I like this song. But shouldn't B.W. Stephenson (Shambala, recorded by Three Dog Night) get partial writer's credit for that opening riff?

This is a fantastic video - superbly talented egoless world class musicians deliver a classic that mesmerises, disharms and is totally addictive.
By: billabongodrum. on 03 Oct 08, 19:43:43
but if that had been the process of getting the wilburys together, you know "let's form this band" it never would have happened.

Can't turn it off. Watched it many times every night since I found it. It must almost be worn out now. Some of the greatest pop musicians ever. Together making history. R.I.P Big O and George......

hey durden, take a chill pill, ringo is in the video. weasel, don't take that crap sitting down. stand up to the tydurden101s of the world.

This group succeeds because, unlike most supergroups, they didn't have an air of self-importance about them, and didn't try to change the world. They simply wanted to have a good time, and their laid-back energy is palpable. Plus they're all great songwriters and musicians, and that certainly shines through as well. I think their first album is a generally overlooked classic.

Dammit. I wish I'd seen these guys in action! All this talent yet the music is so much more than the sum of the parts!! This is what music is all about.

When the Traveling Wilburys did they play songs from each person's individual catalogs or just Traveling Wilburys songs? The Highwaymen would play "Walk The Line", "Me and Bobby McGee", "City of New Orleans" etc. in addition to their album tracks; to see the Traveling Wilburys play "Positively 4th Street", "Something", "Free Fallin", "Pretty Woman" etc. would have been amazing
