Linus has only experiences with cvs and bitkeeper - not much for that buiness. All his "bad examples" are against cvs and svn. Maybe in this case he is right, he does not know anything about Perforce. But the main problem at his argumentation is the mixture of branches and distributed scm systems. It's very interesting how so many people are involved in coding yet are so disconnected. Linus sees the Fault in Centralized Branching systems for what they are. I like how he develops branching systems in a human way, so that we can bounce ideas off of one another and flexibly translate that into fixes for coding errors and anomalies.

I've spent lots of time going thru many GTD apps and configurations. my current iteration is worthy of this post. I use Mail.app with mailtags, iCal, Omnifocus and Journler. I can create todos from anywhere and it will sync everywhere. there's some complexity involved, but once it's all under the hood, the driving is smooth and simple. worth the effort!!! journler I use for notes and reference and such. I have circusponies NOTEBOOK, but it's too much for GTD, I use it for formal projects

I've actually began implementing my organization online with iGoogle. It has all I need and accesible from any computer I'm at. Only problem is that its online. But no big deal, I'd rather have it there than on pen/paper. Also, as for brainstorming and note I have a drawing board in my room for ideas and such. I picked up his book recently and gotta say I agree when he mentions that calendar programs and other utilities attempt to organize your priorities but rather further can complicate your focus on what you need to do and how to do it. Therefore I want to ask here to anyone that reads this, what I should do instead? I have to do notes, calendar, notebooks, mail all w/ google and though its nice to have it all in one spot, it hasn't made me super productive? Panda

Thanks to Google for sharing this. My former boss used the Book getting things done and create an organized work system for him, apparently he had papers everywhere before I'd started. He hadn't turned in any of his corp smaller expenses for reimbursement. This book also helped him create a system to organize his time, e-mail and tasks.

I highly recommend getting the GTD book. Get EVERYTHING out of your head into an actionable plan really can transform your life. Allen admits that most of his ideas are common sense, but most people don't utilise these 'common sense' ideas properly and efficiently. GTD will solve your procrastination problems without having to think about procrastination as a problem

David does a good job of "tickling" my interest enough to probably purchase his book to get more details/specifics on how-to some of the concepts that he presents. I have heard many of these concepts and practiced them over the years with a specific paper planner system and have gotten away from it. I would like to have this system and have it interact with MS Outlook.

I'm using chrome right now and one thing that I miss is that in FF I can make a folder put all my news and then just open the folder and all my news sites just open in tabs...you can't do that in CHROME.

Chrome is nice, very simple and VERY fast. But I can't give up Firefox because of one simple feature: Ad blocking! It's unlikely that Google will provide a way to block ads in Chrome, since, you know, they make their money from advertising. Still, Chrome is super fast and runs very nicely.
