while it is risky to use high tai kicks to the head while staying on your TOES.. it is very effective as to screw your support foot in the ground while rotating your hips and delivering the kick... just really hard to return to good stance when your tired lol... see my sep 13th fight for demo :)

nope, then u cannot get the power on the kick, as u cannot turn ur hip to give some power to the kick. btw, as i see his balance is bit backwards, which will make u easyly fall from your balance if the opponent kicks u same time as u kick. I had the same problem, but then I started to stand as straight as i could and kicked like for few weeks, it helped me, if u have same problem, try that. ;)

actually, hooby,i think that leg flexibility is easier to get than back flexibility, butit really depends on your age, because the younger you are,the softer your back is, and for older girls,usually leg flex. is a bit easier to get.But you can definitely do it.I just started a year, at 13, and i'm going to compete in level 8 and I've got oversplits and i can pull my leg straight (in the back) so it is totally possible! Just don't give up! (and don't forget hot showers to relieve soreness!)^^

Go for it, I started recently and I'm 15. But unless you have done ballet for ages, are naturally flexible and are absolutely dedicated to being a great gymnast, it's pretty unlikely you will ever perform at that elite level - at least that's what I've been told. Try anyway though, it's great even just for small comps, fitness and flexibility.

Its more artistic gymnasts whose spines are compressed, because of the landings and handstand skills. I think rhythmic gymnasts will suffer plenty of other joint problems for being streched so acutely, but I think its more likely to be from their restricted diet, which can give osteoperosis. They were fexible to start with or they wouldnt be there!

I can't say for sure, as I'm not a doctor LOL! Some people are naturally more flexible anyway. But if you weren't and got to this level you would likely have back trouble. Most gymnasts have to work through back pain, like me now!

Gaining legs flexibility is much tougher than back flexibility that it can take a year or more(in my point of view). There are no other ways except stretching everyday,making oversplits, pulling your leg up(one by one of course) and trying to keep your leg up with the force of the muscles. Plus, stomach and pointing toes exercises are preferable. Good luck. I hope you understood what I meant. -Hooby-

Very good video! Interesting to hear about that "green light"! Although we had to face them in the Falklands (in one of those cases they were rejected by Arg. special forces), I always admired the way SAS works. Now, I see SAS operates in both military and counter terrorist operations: doesn´t british police have their own "swat" for those cases, or is it always SAS who takes care? Greetings!

Agreed. i do both and ive tried other arts but them two just go together just right. Muay Thai is a good stand up style becuase its both straight forward and deadly and brazilian jui jitsu is a good ground/grappling style becuase it includes the effective throws found in judo with the effective submissions found in jui jitsu.

He's done some of the most extreme climbs in that time period, an extreme athlete in every sense of the word, surviving what would make most people lay down and cry until they died from exhaustion. The "300 workout" was a one-time deal to test overall strength and endurance. Gym Jones changed the different workouts on a regular basis to keep the actors on their toes. I remember reading an article on the Gym Jones website about it, but it was a long time ago. Check it out if you're curious.
