I don't think Isaac Albéniz even played guitar; as far as I know, he played piano, and other artists transcribed his pieces for guitar. The the performer in this video is John Williams. Unless you're talking about some other Isaac, in which case I apologize for wasting your time.

isaac is the best next to segovia bit just classical wise all around acoustic and guitar in general -----------lets see steve vai or other shreaders play this--------------- say wtf eveu want cause i play shread and i no what its like and ive been playing for 4 years... i can play through the fire and flames all the way threw (NOT HARD) but i cant get threw asturias like isaac

Exactly. You can always rely on John Williams to have an intelligent and tasteful interpretation of whatever music he's playing. I don't know why some people hear his performances and choose to view his consistency as a bad thing, especially considering how beautiful his sound is.

Learning this song now, and hearing this is such an inspiration. John Williams really sets a standard we can all aspire to reach, and instead of arguing and nitpicking over differences between other players when we hear their playing, we should compare our own playing to these masters and look for ways to improve ourselves.

...JW makes songs like Cordoba and La Maya de Goya easy to listen to, while although JBs tonal variety and expression is incredible and sometimes there is nothing more beautiful on the guitar, it does not always work as well or suit the music as well as JWs version.

Further to the argument below . I think JWs Sevilla is better exactly BECAUSE the version has less tonal variety, it suits the song better. I have heard many criticisms of JW about his relatively homogeneous playing. But after listening to a lot of JB, others and JW, I have come to the conclusion that JWs cleanness of sound is his style, his musicality is the how perfectly the piece is played. More than any other interpretter he plays in such a way that complex music is easily understood.

Yes watch the "John Williams infuses Flamenco into Sevilla." You know there is a reason for the strumming. It is a dance and it was important for Mr.Williams incorporate some flamenco aspects into the song.

will there be someone who would make a move to put classical guitar on the limelight on stage? john williams is the greatest so far and he's making his own contributions for the the development of classical guitar but i do think it's not that enough (?). guitar imo is the most complete instrument. you have an entire opera in just 6 strings...

Have you seen the YT video "John Williams infuses Flamenco into Sevilla with Paco's help"? That might explain his 'strumming' that you apparently don't care for.
