thanks so much for this video. It is THE Historical flood ever for Iowa! By all measurements, it's now 12 ft. above the highest recorded flood levels ever (NOAA) at about 31+ ft. They're now saying there's alot of gas, oil on the waters. Sure hope FEMA jumps right in there like they are so famous for. Still waiting for their press conference. KCRG has aerial footage too fyi. Prayers to all of you in Iowa.

i do admit that kali is fun and does a good job of themeing the ride and the drop is by far very fun. but thats all, grizzly river run does go past this by the themeing as well, the drop, by adding two and it spins more rapidly, and the more rapids they add. to me it feels like kali just added bumps in the river and filled water. but ehh imo

This is the worst rapids ride I've ever been on...even the really old ones at the Six Flags parks are better. The only good part of Kali is the drop - the actual rapids segments are too weak to splash any water onto the raft. With Disney's budget you would think they could have at least improved a variety of ride that has existed for nearly 30 years.

I currently live just off campus of Kirkwood Community College and I am just glad I got out on thursday night before the shit really hit the fan. I had to come back to my moms house so i could see a doctor. I found out I have pneumonia and if I hadn't gotten out when I did I probably would have to be hospitalized now. Its just scary to think that if I were home not only would I be deathly sick but I wouldn't have a way to get treatment and no water.

I used to live in the Windsor Apartments on Ellis Blvd and just moved out about a year ago. I know I'm lucky to live on higher ground in North Liberty, but we've all been helping out with sandbagging during our free time. So many people have lost so much. And for the record, it's not a man-made flood. We had record snowfalls and rain this past winter/spring, so it's not exactly a mystery how this happened. We've known it would be likely to happen for months.

My thoughts go out to all those affected by the flood. Don't put the blame on those affected. Just about ALL cities in the mid-west are along major rivers. Mother nature's major rains combined with thousands of square miles of tile drained farmland equal city flooding! Unless we turn back the clock and have vast amounts prairie fields and/or non-tile drained farmland to flood upstream, our mid-west cities will continue to suffer severe flooding.

One hundred years ago Iowa was only prairie grasses. The land, streams, lakes have been changed so much that the water has no way of being slowed down. Nothing soaks up the water on its routes. Our terrain is very hilly but so much of it is in farmland and small cities. It is so important to preserve the natural ways the land has of protecting itself.
