Oh and Billy Bob has really bad aim.

I started to hate the Chevrocrap Volt when they revealed the production model. Why couldn't they stick with the original design, it looks like a Civic with some LEDs and an elongated plus sign slapped on the front.

I do the same thing as Billy Bob in England. HaHaHaHa. I Love my V8 pick up truck too.

You pay to have your oil changed and tires rotated? Wow, you're such a tool. Fuck off until you get a real car.

I know what you mean. Except the whole cousin thing, I find myself agreeing very much with Billy Bob. Wait till 2010 then you can get your hands on the Chevy Volt. and EREV beats a Hybrid anyday. Plus, the Volt is an American car, so you know it will withstand abuse and bird droppings (not that I am implying that a Toyota can't even withstand bird shit or anything).

priuses are crap
By: ugotownedo. on 02 Oct 08, 19:17:31
How so? It uses about half of the gas a Civic would, and I test drove it. It's a quiet car. Besides the sort of odd shape of the rear, and the fact you'd have to drive it for 10+ years to benefit from the fuel savings, it's a good car. And they have a pretty long waiting list (3 months in my local dealership), so I doubt they're Toyota's greatest failure if Toyota is making a crapload of money off of em'.

Clarkson is angry because he's wrong all the time. He once said that Mercedes S class always shows how cars of the future are going to look like and he concluded that hybrids have no future as S class does not use this type of drivetrain. Welcome now the Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid. And Clarkson proved he talks bullshit againg. And Golf diesel can never get a better fuel economy than a Prius. Check spritmonitor, German real fuel consumption monitor for the proof.

piece of trash!
By: krankiev. on 16 Sep 08, 17:14:45
That's when it is all working correctly. At some point they will have major problems, and will be very costly to repair. That's another plus with the Escort diesel. It's all mechanical, and easily repaired. This electronics junk on newer cars is just... dumb. Most of the cars out thre have problems with the electronics within 3 years. I'd rather not have that, thanks. Chrysler's lifetime powertrain warranty is looking pretty good right about now.
By: krankiev. on 16 Sep 08, 17:12:03
Dirtier? what the crap do you mean? and.. I have 4 escorts, 1986 and 1987 model years. One's a diesel. I could never bring myself to buy a foreign car. I don't like the way they are designed, they are made of cheap thin metals, and I'd rather support the American economy. They need it more than Japan atm.
By: ReliableSunPower. on 16 Sep 08, 16:56:35
I don't doubt it. Any car loses mileage if it is driven roughly. I just set the cruise control at 75 for a 100 mile trip. Anyone can do that. I normally dismiss diesel comparisons. Diesel is a different fuel type with more energy. If you want to debate that diesel is better than gasoline that's another thing. I would be reluctant to compare an Escort in quality but that is a subjective opinion. I suspect that the diesel Escort is significantly dirtier which is part of the appeal of a Prius.
By: ReliableSunPower. on 16 Sep 08, 16:44:50
You are somewhat correct, that is why the design is such that the batteries are kept at a constant minimum charge which allows much longer life. The Prius doesn't go through full discharge cycles.
By: krankiev. on 16 Sep 08, 15:58:48
I do know what I'm talking about, and the ford escort diesel still beats that, and is more powerful. And that's from 1985. By the way 52 is abnormally high for them. Know a few people who have them and they get significantly less.
By: krankiev. on 16 Sep 08, 15:57:23
the batteries will only take x amount of charges and then they don't work hardly at all. A dumb type of batteries to be used in a car that is constantly on and off of charging the batteries. Which is why they don't always last that long.
By: ReliableSunPower. on 16 Sep 08, 07:09:49
No 100K miles is not the life of the car. The battery is designed for the life of the car and has a 100K warranty. Maybe a fraction of Ford trucks make it to 500K miles, I know people who have to replace transmissions in Rangers at 40K miles. You keep predicting replacing batteries but you aren't even saying 'dad' replaces batteries, just that he fixes Priuses. There are Priuses with over 100K miles still with the original batteries still working perfectly.
By: ReliableSunPower. on 16 Sep 08, 07:05:11
We get 52 MPG on the freeway. You don't know what you are talking about.
By: krankiev. on 15 Sep 08, 20:21:08
The prius doesn't get near that mileage, the EPA estimates are nowhere near actual mileage. And the prius doesn't get crap for mileage on the highway, only good in city driving conditions. And what are you gonna do when the warranty is up and all the electronics crap fails? You can't deny that it will, unless you are a complete imbecile.
