Wisst ihr was das eigentlich geschmacklose an diesem Video ist? Die Soundaufnahmen zu Beginn (das mit der Handkamera) stammen aus Privatvideos, die während der Tsunamikatastrophe 2004 in Thailand aufgenommen wurden. Hört man u. a. an "Shit, Shit". Da wurden gerade zwei alte Leute weggespült. Finde ich reichlich makaber, sowas für ein Musikvideo zu benutzen. Ansonsten ganz lustig...

I do not believe in God, but if one exists I wouldn't be surprised if it was just some uber-geek of some advanced civilization in another dimension. I had this daft idea that god could be a lonely uber-geek, so socially awkward he is outcast from the other gods, so in boredom he knocked up this universe on a celestial computer like a sort of cosmic Sim-City. As it unfolds he has no idea what's going to happen next. He used to directly intervene, but found it made the game-play too predictable, so now he lets it run where-ever it likes. That could be it. However, evolution has already a very satisfactory and complete understanding of why it is humans have this great intelligence. Humans have extraordinary intelligence. Cheetahs are fast because their prey is fast. Giraffes are tall because the vegetation they eat is high up in the trees. Humans are smart because we lacked the physical ability to hunt efficiently. So in order to cooperate better and be able to develop strategies, we grew big brains. We are just smart animals.

Well, if god were to have divided his consciousness among, say, the humans, it would explain both human intelligence and the lack of a presently existing, overbearing guardian-type god. Your question does bring about another question, of just what people would expect a "god" to be. Most would initially go with 'old man in the sky'; id view god as the source of "mind" If the internet eventually allows all the conscious humans to combine their thoughts more completely, we'll know soon enough

Yeah though, for something at all to have existed, such as god, prior to existence itself seems highly contradictory. It would make sense if time were a construct of the mind (since we don't see reality itself anyway, just our minds' version)

I wasn't assuming that the universe held the laws of logic before it existed. I was saying that is what it would take for God to exist before the universe. But by then he has no point. Solid call on your part on saying that I assume God would be a consciousness. Yes i did, but only because that is the only logical way for him to have existed without the human perceived dimensions in the first place.

I understand alot of younger guy's may not be familiar with the total Stanley Clarke of the 70's and 80's until the present. Every time he comes to Washington, DC I've never missed a show of his. After almost 40 years of playing he is still the most complete bassist out there. I've seen him almost do everything on both the electric and accoustic. Slap bass is one if not the most difficult styles to master, on the bass guitar, not every one who plays bass can or should do it. I read comments on how some find it boring, WHAT!!! I suppose just using a pic or the old one two finger style has soooo much excitement and sounds way better than this style of playing. If your going to do bass solo's this is one of the most jaw dropping awe inspiring ways to do it.

its really upbringing, if you grow up in the church, preferably the 'black' church, or even just a church that has emphasizes on rhythm and percussion,a nd then you have people culture that has musics that emphasize percussion and rhythm, of course you'll have a better sense of it, same with just learning , after a few years you are just very in tune with it, nothing to do with race,

I use YouTube to check out stuff I'm not familiar with and then scamper off to iTunes. Music is powerful. It can overthrow governments, or raise millions for the needy.
