I'm mexican and think prehispanic cultures had relevant knowledge that could be admired even today. That is: medical, herbs, agriculture (remember corn origin), hidraulic (Mexico city was in a lake with both sweet and salt water that were kept separated), astronomic (both mayan an aztec calendars were more precise) and much more. But the history is written by the conquerors. You could look for other sources like Leon Portilla. Even if there were warriors or violent or had their beliefs.

Although local society was much more developed then that one in North Amarica, local regimes were despotic using even children sacrifices to honour local gods (Aztecs, Incas, Mayas etc.). I'm from New Zealand and MSP is seriously underplayed here. i think majority Aussie and NZ music listeners prefer sunny laid-back, straightforward radio music i.e jack johnson, RnB etc...MSP always write deep, meaningful music and lyrics which set them apart from commercial bands. MSP should at least do a gig in Aussie since they wrote Australia!!
