Good review. These headphones actually stay relatively close to the outer ear. True in-ear monitors go a lot deeper in. Also, the ratio of sound quality for the price isn't the best. If you're after style, go with these or Bose. If you're after sound quality, you might want to look into Ultimate Ears and Shure.

I cant explain this enough. IN EAR HEADPHONES DO NOT UTILIZE THE WHOLE EAR WHEN LISTENING TO MUSIC. When we hear things with our ears, we are using all the little edges on our ears to catch sound waves. Push the outer edges of your ear to your head...see....the sound is high in treble, similiar to the in-ear headphones

One HUGE inprovment on the upcoming headphones is that they have two different speakers, in each ear. The sound quality will be amazing, and also there is a controll for your ipod on those headphones (with added mic). Only thing is, it's 80 bucks..

there good they have great sound quality but low output in comparison to other models likestanton,KAM,Technics,Sony but they are also reliable which is good not to keen on the design though not very comfortable. i mean the new KAM ones (KHP2000) they have larger drivers,much much higher output around the same maybe even better sound quality. i own the mk2 version of the HD25 for 130pounds and the KAM are a little less but have better specs and features but the quality is yet to be tested.

For anyone's that interested, the 'impedance' rating on headphones is designed to match to different outputs. Higher impedance means you need more power to drive them. Most consumer level headphones are 32?, and professional headphones can be as high as 600?, which are no use for things like iPods. Matching impedance between equipment is key to getting the highest quality sound across the whole frequency range with minimal distortion. 32? is best for consumer equipment like iPods.

very nice work! Im an intermediate DJ (I think haha) and I find your videos very helpful and funny! Anyways, I think you can achieve the same effect if you use Split Cue on your mixer. Although i think only a few mixers have that (medium to high price ones) Keep making videos mate!

nice helpfull video. I was about to order these from e-bay but after seeing this vedio stopped. Actually all the seelers are using default picture of the cx300 downloaded from its site. You may actually have been taken twice. If you look at the silver ring below the earbud piece on your "real" cx300 it appears from the video to be evenly divided by a line. Authentic cx300's have that line off center. It's tough to see on your video, but I would check that out. I just got some perfectly packaged cx500's on ebay that are sadly fakes.

Thanks for this Johnathan. I've been DJing for a while but I've always been interested in how different DJs setup their headphones etc. I have a question regarding split or blend. I tend to use split with my headphones if I'm spinning at home as I don't have monitor speakers, but when I'm out I find the single headphone/monitor the best setup. Would you agree with this as a good way to practise for live events (when not having monitor speakers available)? Many thanks
