The #7 "Oregon Beach Inlet" was actually just off the north jetty of Newport, Oregon. Two men in an aluminum skiff capsized in the surf, and weren't wearing lifejackets. A tourist just happened to be out on the jetty with his video camera, and took that amazing footage of the two men being rescued. I was there on the jetty, as part of the CG crew...the helicopter dropped the man that they picked up off with us, and we delivered him to an ambulance. Everyone in the crew did a great job!

Probably a few reasons. They may have wanted to get the kids to EMS ASAP to treat for hypothermia. The cabin of the HH65C is pretty small. Limited space depending on how many crew and how much gear they brought. Lastly, depending on wind direction and speed, air temp and fuel load they may have had power concerns. The pilots, swimmer, and flight mech discuss it all before they begin the evolution and come up with the best plan for the current situation.

I have flown on many missions with the CG as a flight mechanic. You raise a good ?. The Dolphin is a small helicopter compared to others, but they should have been able to fit them inside. The only thing I can think of is they did not want to leave the kids unattended inside the helo. Regardless of the reason, I know the crew talked about the pros and cons of their decision beforehand.

Incredible. Absolutely freakin incredible, tremendous rescue. These guys are the pride of America. do they do it for the money? Hardly. I've never seen a member of the Coast Guard getting rich (in money) doing their jobs. We should double the salary of every one of these guys. They should get so much per rescue.

any time someone has a blade of course the best thing to do is leave the situation but if thats not an option the first thing you should think is two hands on one controlling the hand with the blade. then positioning youself away from the edge or point. trying to get the knife away is top priority. only an idiot would try to choke you out first.

Im an MMA fighter and Police officer so I like fighting guns and other weapons. click klak pow is just better for multiple opponets, and a knife even better, not even the best jiu jitsu guy can defend against a knife. You can put me in a triangle choke and still I can stab you at least Seven times before I get choked out.I would run like a little girl if someone came at me with a knife. Dont get me wrong the video has some great moves in it, but weapons are much better in a street fight.

No I understand completely what its saying it said both arms in or both arms out to prevent the triangle if you put one in and one out your chances are higher for the triangle to be executed. If you dont have control of at least one arm the triangle could be difficult for some. If the bottom guy is packing heat he could just shoot the top guy in the face that could prevent the guard pass as well.

The person on the ground, should have rolled and mounted (passed the guard) of the opponent on the top. 2) thing that could stop this guard pass, is a triangle choke at 5:35. The opponent on top would most likely stand up to slam you (if ur doing this in a MMA comp). However u could use ur left arm as a hook, and sweep the opponent who's standing up right ankle. Then try for a ankle lock.

There are 2 things which could stop this guard pass, to my knowledge. 1st) at 5:21, the opponent on the ground could use a scissor sweep, using he's left foot as a hook (pulling left), then by using he's left arm to pull the opponent (closer to him and to left). Then followed by, right shin to the opponent hips (pushing right), and finishing by grabbing the opponents left shoulder with he's right arm (which chokes/pushes the opponent to the right). When done correctly..

While not a soldier (I'm studying to be a Elementary school counselor) I am an Eagle Scout and it sickened me to see Phelps and their non-Christian beliefs try to taint what those proud soldier did for our country. Thank you Patriot Gaurd Riders for supporting the families of the fallen when laws somehow protect hatred and intolerance. You can still participate while you search for that bike. I wish more non-biker people realized they are welcome as members. I carry the flags, coffee, extra gas, emergency kit, etc and follow the procession. Then I take my place in line. But you don't have to carry things. Just show up when you can.

as a former marine cadet, i do have to say that i am a bit biased in thinking that the marine corps silent drill platoon is bettter but i have to admit these AF guys are pretty damn good, of course other drill teams cant compare, i rmember back in the day when i was in HS the navy honor guard or w/e came by for a show or sumthin, and we were not impressed, after the show they came out to hang with us and we gave them a show with our cadet drill team, we totally showed them up

2d22k9, I agree with you. Any Marines that come on here and bad talk this shit has probably never been on a silent drill team and does not know how difficult it actually is to do. I am a Marine myself, and I personally don't think that the Marine Corps Silent Drill team is any better or worse than the Air Forces'. This video is super impressive as I did not even know the AF even had a silent drill team. However, we are better killers though. ;)

I wish people would stop coming here just to say that the Marines are better. Whether it's true or not, to pull off a silent drill this good is equally impressive whether it's the Marines or the Air Force. Silent drills aren't easy; I'm an honor guard in my school, and while we obviously aren't HALF as good as these guys, it doesn't mean I don't know how hard they worked for this. I salute ANYONE who serves their country in the armed forces. I salute ANYONE who does a silent drill perfectly.

Those didn't seem like lethally intended shots. If they wanted to "attack" the people on the boat... There were more obvious places to aim. In my opinion, the fact that the Japanese didn't continue shooting until the boat was demolished or they killed someone (which they were perfectly capable of, and had several opportunities to) suggests that they were aiming to disable the vessel. The boat, on the otherhand, engaged them in a blatantly hostile act of combat... Thereby, validating the title.
