All I know is in the US so many people worry about how they will pay for their health care yet in Canada where I live I have never had to pay and I have never had to wait for MRI, X-Rays, CT Scans, etc (and I have had all those many times including more tests). Infact I know someone with a brain tumor and they did tests right away and discovered it was not cancerous and not growing but have him coming back for another appointment in the very next week. What long wait? Ask Canadians for facts ..

I donate over 10% of my income to charity, even though I don't have dime in savings. Did you ever consider that the $5000+ spent on one American for healthcare could keep HUNDREDS alive in other countries? Why should we just blanket cover everyone here at such a high cost, when some could actually get their own insurance? America works on freedom. It shouldn't coerce charity.

I don't know where you got the idea that the good ol' U. S. of A. has the best health care system in the world, but I would change my source of information if I were you. The USA pays around 16% of GDP for health care and Japan pays a little over 2% and access and outcomes are much better than what we experience here. Out of all the major civilized countries in the world, the USA is about the only one where a person can be forced into bankruptcy because of a catastrophic medical occurrence.

Review all the facts and you will see that the US health care system is falling further and further behind in all bench mark areas of quality for health care. I am a nurse and can and do have health insurance but don't kid your self into believing that we are equal and all have access. The food worker at my hospital pays the same premiums as I do and makes about 30% the income that I do. I spend abot 5,000 a year for coverage or about 1/12 of my income. They spend 1/4 for the same coverage.

Once we go to national healthcare in the US, you can bet that all of these very intelligent doctors are going to go into something else. Generation X will be having "average" students as their doctors, because the cream of the crop is going to be doing something else. You get what you pay for. We could free up all the money needed to get excellent healthcare for everyone by placing more scrutiny on the workmans compensation system. Too many people abuse this in order not to have to work.

I agree with sugar86f. This is a great movie. Its script is well-written. The actors are wonderful. I loved spacey and winslet and i think they fit in the film very well. I must admit that i would give everything to even take a small role in that five star movie, The Life Of David Gale.

When I saw The Life of David Gale I was so impressed by Laura Linney that I tried to watch everything else she did. There are beautiful parts, eg. P.S., I also liked the TotC series - but I have to agree with what she says: nothing compares. It really is her best role ever to date. Kate Winslet is also a good fit for this movie, IMO, but she is obviously the bigger "name" and played other very impressive roles.
