I'm doubtful - not because I think God can't or won't heal - but because all of the so-called healing ministries out there seem to be full of false doctrine, fraudulent healings, focus on money, and a radical departure from the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have witnessed personally hundreds of blind eyes opened - the deaf hearing (one attends our church who was almost completely deaf) seem people walk out of wheelchairs. I do see a definite similarity between the new christian revivals and these tribal rituals. My question is this: If they're demonic possessions or influences, how can they stand to stay when the name of Jesus is uttered? That's something I was wondering. I know moves of the Spirit are supposed to be much more restorative rather than revelational. Could it be possible that these people are rejoicing in the Holy of Holies together? My point remains, though. The Christmas we now celebrate is based on Christian history, not pagan rites. The similarities don't change this fact. The only one doesn't apply is the Christmas tree. Actually, Believing1Thomas, whoever said that isn't entirely wrong. Google Saturnalia, the pagan ritual from which most of the practices of todays Christmas came from. The "leaders" of the day changed the tradition of "saturnalia" into the church to keep the pagan ritual acceptable to the church. Christians celebrate Christmas for Christ now but as God is my witness, Christ is not the origin of Christmas, the Saturnalia is. The adorning of trees, the giving of gifts all came 1st from Saturnalia.
