The 70's was a crazy time in a lot of countries, Sweden included. I'm not sure about exact percentages but 87 seems a bit over the top. A normal Swedish worker pays about a third of his income in taxes. Sure we have one of the highest levels of taxes in the world but in return we get FREE universal health care that actually works, FREE college for everyone, paid parent leave (80% during the child's first 15 months), proper social welfare and a 100% literacy rate. It's worth it.

First of all Obama doesn't even come close to being a socialistic politician when it comes to international standards. Secondly I think it's wrong to assume that socialism and freedom can't coexist. Look beyond Cuba, China and Soviet. There are loads of peaceful and prosperous countries in the world with a long socialistic past. Look at the Scandinavian countries for one.

This after "straight-talk" McCain sent TEAMS of lawyers to Alaska to derail, postpone or undermine the investigation. You first commit a crime ie: property deals, payoffs, ect ect Then you get investigated and charged. >> Then why isn't Obama being charged? Rezko could cut an easy deal with the Feds to reduce his sentence by squealing on a Chicago politico...the Feds would want that. They would then get two crooks. But it never happened.
