No, YOU miss the point. The formula already exists in the computer. Therefore, the whole point of this was the greater challenge of using completely different skills to solve this. Its an original take on a classic puzzle, to say the least. Totally awesome.

i no how he did it theres a program on the internet that u type in the colors of the rubiks cube when it is scrambled and it shows u the fastest way to solve it. the robot was hooked up to the computer and the computer had the program up so wut the scaner was doin is scaning the colors so that the actions would be right. it is still insanly hard to build so 5/5 star vid.

I adopted on PC a fast algorithm to solve the cube.

for everyone whos asking, this is (supposedly) a version of LEGO's MINDSTORMS NXT, those programmable robots which made a boom ten years ago? anyway,whats amazing here is that sticked a webcam,theoretically on the main brick's usb port,and captured all 6 sides,before it started twisting.now i dont know if this is real,but i thought it was real.whoever programmed this NXT machine to sort out this cube is a genius!i dont think even Einstein would have thought of this if ever he had one today.

Either you're an idiot or are purposely causing an argument, but robotics is an advanced subject now, I highly doubt it would be easier to individually colour thousands of frames and get it looking this great [While keeping track backwards of this rubix cube solving] than it would be to create a simple logic based program that works out the position of each colour face and fix it.

This is a FAKE! Obviously the "cube" is just a green screen cube. Then the robot manipulates it in random orders, and the guy will go back and extrapolate colored squares, so as that exact sequence would actually solve whichever cube he puts in. EASY!
