That's not what he means. He's just saying it's boring because he's just playing fast and the melody isn't interesting at all. Quite the opposite of for example John Frusciante. He used only 1/16th of the ammount of notes Malmsteen uses, but it's more fun to listen to than Malmsteen's solo's for a lot of people.

I've got a few, by Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, etc., and a lot of Latin Jazz albums (Cal Tjader, Tito Puente, Irakere).

I'm amazed. I'm kind of new in this jazz thing, and I'm surprised about the fact this music sounds so good, even though it's played only with 4 intruments. And they don't play super complex solos, they just make it simple, and yet it sounds amazing. I'm also suprised by Monk's technique, my piano education has been always classical, and seeing this guy playing the piano keys like that is kind of innovative for me.
