And you goldeneagle2011. I don't know what you're talking about. It does tell a story of a man. but I was talking about when satan took him out to the wilderness to tempt Jesus.

The same god Christians believe are the same Jews believe in. This belief has been around for Endless generations. People do feel comfort as you say. Religion doesn't fill in gaps of knowlegde but somewhere in the bible it sayed that the world was spherical and hangs on nothing. and this was during the time people believed the world was flat.

Jesus didn't say that. He was telling a story and the man in the story said that. Look up 19:11-27 instead of just taking out snippets.

"Try to explain why people believe in a God." It makes them more comfortable to believe that something is watching over them. Religion is also useful in filling in the gaps of human knowledge and manipulating people.

There are no supernatural occurrences.
By: jonathanokoro35. on 12 Oct 08, 13:17:13
Some scientific explainations happened by accident. Why do certain things happen. If we can't prove anything it is claimed as superstition but many scientific advancment we use today were once superstition. What do you thing happens to ones conciousness when they die. Its unexplainable. Science is an observation, and thats all we could do. Try to explain why people believe in a God. The same god Christians believe are the same Jews believe in. This belief has been around for Endless generations

First: explain to me what the bible says about how things work. The only things we cannot explain in the bible is how people where brought back to life and an all powerful being and so on. The thing is we don't know how reality works completly. Why can't we bring life back with science, or how can't we explain supernatural occurances. Human civilization was built to keep a social order and comunication. We still don't know how is life brought to existence.
By: brothermuslim1984. on 12 Oct 08, 09:12:38
return to Allah, the only true God. worship Allah alone. He's the only God deserving to be worshipped. there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger. Become practicing Muslim today. Commit to Islam, the only perfect way of life. attain salvation and Allah's Mercy in acceptance of Islam. there is no other way but Islam

Science is not at all similar to superstition. Superstition and religion are closely related but science reflects how the real world works and is very useful for the advancement and development of human civilization. If you study how the real world works you would realize that nothing works like it does in the Bible or any other mythology. You need to accept that we may or may not succeed rather than depend on your religion to give your a comforting sense of immortality.

Because your mother or father was never with you in your life, doesn't mean you never had one. The same with God. I can feel God's presence but cannot see him. unlike santa clause he was made up for children to behaive for the year so they could get presents. Jesus was neither born on dec. 25. The bible never stated the day he was born. Don't take the bible out of context like Satan(Matthew 4:6) Read the bible yourselves and don't assume.
By: jonathanokoro35. on 11 Oct 08, 21:35:07
It will take us a long time to define reality based on observation and rational thought. and we may not even understand reality in the time that eath is here. The earth and its inhabitants will go away someday and not just by meteors, but by the sun exploding the nearest star exploding, or black holes, and the neirest galaxy colliding with ours. But superstition is like science. It is a guess of the unknown. God is not a superstition to those who believe. He is real to us.

"He provides and protects and gives us more happiness than anything in the world. To us who feel him, all other things in life is rendered obsolete." Sounds very much like drug addiction.
By: bielawaa. on 10 Oct 08, 23:54:13
whatever we experience happens in our head so im not gonna live with a god in my brain
By: DeadlyMACD. on 10 Oct 08, 20:27:15
I never said scientific answers are absolute. Scientist accept incomplete answers. All I ask is that you try to define reality based upon observation and rational thought. Why define the unknown with superstition?
By: jonathanokoro35. on 10 Oct 08, 20:01:57
He provides and protects and gives us more happiness than anything in the world. To us who feel him, all other things in life is rendered obsolete. And FYI, Science doesn't give absolute answers. Every science answer is based on experiments and educated guess. Each experiment doesn't have the same results. Either because experimental error or the last experiment answer was wrong. The answers science gives you are samplers to the real answer. Pay atention in science class sometime would you. HAH.

Religion was created to give a sense of what to live life for. But as I see it today I am also a rational thinker but fuse science and knowlegde of God together. I believe that one religion is correct but others were created with the help of Satan to throw us of of the truth. I need religion, no scratch that I need God becausehe gives me salvation. But I believe God because I feel him, not all the time but in praise. His presence is suthing fearful and joyful.
By: DeadlyMACD. on 10 Oct 08, 17:42:11
John 1:5 is a nice bit of poetry. The light is human reason, not your imaginative belief in the supernatural. Ask yourself why you need religion?
By: DeadlyMACD. on 10 Oct 08, 17:37:47
Only rational thought, logic and science can define reality. Just because people are convinced God exists doesn't mean its true. Whenever I say we don't know why the Universe exists that means everything, including humans ( although I should of capitalized it).
By: jonathanokoro35. on 10 Oct 08, 17:28:43
You also failed to say we don't know why we exist. Christianity looks absurd to you because you don't understand why we believe and never will, look up John 1:5. There is no evidence of God's existence. The bible only explains his presence interacting with his people. But the reason people believe is because the have proven him or God has proven to them that he exist. Although this evidence can only be told and not seen or heard by God. Though poeple these days believe only because of tradition.

Yeah, America has great strengths and some terrible weaknesses.
By: DeadlyMACD. on 10 Oct 08, 16:55:54
Just think how absurd pre Christian religions appear to modern man. Thats because all of religion is a myth created to aid people in coping with the struggles of life.
By: DeadlyMACD. on 10 Oct 08, 16:53:32
No proof for the existence of God. There may not be evidence against his existence but there is still no rational reason to believe it. Just accept that we don't know why the universe exists.
By: jonathanokoro35. on 10 Oct 08, 14:53:07
Although Christians in this video seem bad not all are. Christians are being misled by bishops who teach the wrong words. Christians themselves will bring their down fall if they continue like this. But those who do try to learn of the chance they have in God eventually believe. But those who don't will not die by our hands but by Gods hand. And Atheists will never understand because their hearts are full of false light. John 1:5
