You have to remember that she is using nylon strings. Most of their techniques do NOT work with steel strings due to different friction and densities. The strings have a different play and feeling. She is also using a Spanish guitar and her guitar has a mic in it as opposed to pickups to amplify the percussive tones. The right equipment make a big difference. You can pick up the techniques but it wont work well without the same equipment.

lol!! i ask my guitar teacher (who's a music major) well... i expected him to show me some cool techniq... he said they just use rasguardos and the rest are just played around... he said if i want to composs something like this, i should use a metronome and feel the beat... well.... yup it sound ""easy""

if it helps at all this is a realllllly fast rumba. (when rodrigo slows down on the solo you can really feel the typical speed of a rumba). Rodrigo says that they aren't flamenco, but they are definitely heavily influenced by flamenco

I HAVE DISCOVERED THE SECRET after 3 or 6 month of trying this technics : just be generous, give the best you have, be be endeviled by the music... Don't think about anything, just feel the rhythm and it will come naturally. just try to make some basic patterns, with your heart and with energy... Tonight I had a revelation about that, My fingers are bleeding, my nails are broken, but i'm so happy to have the "feeling".. JUst strive hard, try to get the feeling :)

WHAT IS GABRIELA DOING DIRECTLY AFTER EACH HIT?!? The hardest part for me in attempting to learn this technique is getting back into the strumming QUICKLY after each hit.(And she's going waaay to fast for me to see exactly what she's doing) Is it thumb up, thumb down, ring & middle up, or ring & middle down? (or something crazy that i don't even know about) Please someone get back to me on this! THANKYOU!!!
