Absinthe isnt actually that bad
By: heavyharpoon23. on 01 Oct 08, 12:24:11
I recommend anything in the Jade line, of the combier distilleries, anything from Matter-Luginbühl, duplais, brevans, mansinthe, marteau vert, twin tec. The doubs mystique, the roquette 1797, the Belle Amie, the Coquette. thats pretty much the best out there right now, any of those are excellent.

What one would you recommend?
By: heavyharpoon23. on 01 Oct 08, 08:56:23
I don't recommend either, especially the Hapsburg, the La Fée is not the best at all but it will louche and will give you a small sample of the true taste, it is however artificially colored, if you want quality absinthe, try the liqueurs de France website.

Is either Hapsburg Red Label or LaFee good for this method?

Where did you get that info from? A movie? If it was truly a hallucinogen, do you honestly think European & American governments would have allowed absinthe to be relegalized? Use your head. And do some research. Thujone is a convulsant, NOT by any means a hallucinogen, and it neither adds or subtracts from the experience of absinthe. And no, convulsants will not make you hallucinate. Sorry, if you want to hallucinate try depriving yourself of oxygen or using LSD. Absinthe would not be for you.

you know, absinthe + water + sugar, without fancy drip method, works just the same just mix it up
By: YieArKungFu. on 16 Sep 08, 16:32:05
No, it actually does not. Hollywood movies are not exactly the most accurate source of information. They try to fantasize things for dramatic effect. And even if I did buy into all those "old tales", the fact that I drink the stuff regularly gives me first hand knowledge that it doesn't make you hallucinate. Many "old tales" are bullshit. This is no exception.
By: minutes2meltdown. on 16 Sep 08, 10:44:39
it actually does have hallucinogenic powers, after all it is called the green fairy after the tales told after the consumption of it. and it is also mentioned in the fil moulin rouge
By: yoyaoo. on 14 Sep 08, 15:41:15
I like hotdog's
By: YieArKungFu. on 14 Sep 08, 15:36:39
It has no hallucinogenic powers at all. Even if you were able to drink enough of it without OD'ing on alcohol (the great paradox), all it does in large amounts is cause convulsions and/or seizures. These other effects you speak of are the result of the various herbs and high alcohol content combined. The thujone is irrelevant. I know the drink doesn't sound as "cool" this way, but those are the facts.
By: LysergicNox. on 14 Sep 08, 13:36:13
thujone is not a chemical, it comes from a plant called Wormwood (artemisia ABSINTHium), so it's herbal and YES, it has hallucinogen powers. Only you can not drink enough of it to go insane cause of the high alcohol % But it will give you effects than other alcoholic drinks. And it stimulates the creative mind ;-)

Wormwood grows wild in wastelands were weeds grow wild! In England! They are very nice to pick and smell! I know its posible to cook them if blanched in a wok! I also know a method of having Absinthe that is very rare! ya get 2 solid silver bars linked up to a 9 volt battery. It releases bubbles of purity! ya leave it to fizz for 5 mins then drink!
By: angryGTS. on 06 Sep 08, 06:43:19
thujone is tasteless, has no flavor, the bitterness is from grande wormwood not thujone.
By: BlackLightning56. on 04 Sep 08, 20:19:55
I didn't know that. cool
By: Kaakao. on 04 Sep 08, 14:30:54
I usually dont comment on youtube, but I just have to say that Absinth has so little of Thujone, that you will die to alcohol poisoning long before you get any psychedelic effects.
By: aintpluggedin. on 02 Sep 08, 17:47:16
I love its color
By: BlackLightning56. on 02 Sep 08, 11:33:23
Wormwood has Thujone that is what makes one hallucinate
